Setting professional goals

If things aren’t working out in your career, your current position, or the side project you’re working on, step back and ask three questions.

First, if you’re achieving a bunch of smaller goals, but you need to accomplish something else that’s big to really get where you want to go, why haven’t you set that goal?

Second, if you’re constantly flopping at huge jumps, would reassessing and building up towards them with more achievable goals be a better idea?

And lastly, are you where you are because you don’t know where it is you want to go? If this is the case, the first two questions won’t matter.
