Some people use the term marketing when they really mean advertising. We need to do a better job of marketing – we need more billboards!

This mindset also lends itself to those who don’t see the connection between marketing and responding.

How many rings before we answer the phone?

How long do we let go by before we send a reply email?

Do we send a text to simply say, “Yes, I received it and am looking it over. I’ll get back to you.”?

All of these things are marketing. And those that get that don’t have to explicitly say it in a newspaper ad.
